Diplomed at the Conservatory “Santa Cecilia in Rome with the highest grades in the class of Maestro Marco Costantini, Giorgio Mandolesi is a founding member of the ensemble Piccola Accademia with which he won and was reported in several national competitions and International Chamber Music (City of Paularo, Viareggio, Palm).
The same group has recorded “Six Symphonies for brass sextet of JCBach on original instruments (Ed. Stradivarius), a CD of original music for wind octet (Ed. Bongiovanni) and has recorded for RAI Vatican Radio and realizing, finally, on tour in Germany, Austria and France. It is part of ‘European Wind Octet, a group composed of members of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra. In May 1984 he received a scholarship award in memory of Walter Innerwheel Boccaccini as best student of the Music School of Fiesole.
He won the International Tournament of Music (ed. 1992) won first prize in piano and bassoon. From 1995 to 2002 he was principal bassoon of the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa. Currently he serves as “Basson Supersol” all ‘Orchestre de Paris. It ‘been a professor of the modern bassoon Orchestra Jove de Catalunya (Barcelona), the ESMUC Escola Superior de Musica de Catalunya and the bassoon baroque, classical and chamber music of High School Musical the town of Saluzzo. Currently he is professor of modern and baroque bassoon at Zürcher Hochschule der Künste historian and professor of bassoon at the Conservatoire National Superieur de CNSMDP Musique et Danse de Paris.
He has done work as a soloist with the Orchestra Instrumental Group of the Roman Empire, with the ‘Autonomous Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, with the Venice Baroque Orchestra and La Petite Bande Kuijken of Sigiswald. He is interested in studying old bundle with Alberto Grazzi the “Civica Scuola di Musica in Milan, where he graduated in June 1999.
